The AI Officer Programme · In-Person Executive Workshop

Every organisation now needs an AI Officer. In half a day, we certify yours.

An MIT-calibre executive workshop that turns your designated staff into confident, capable AI Officers — fluent in strategy, the EU AI Act, risk and value, and able to stand up the frameworks that let AI run safely across the business. They leave having built a real AI work-app on one of your live business problems.

The mandate

AI is now a line of accountability. Someone has to own it.

Boards are approving AI budgets. Regulators are writing AI law. Staff are already pasting company data into chatbots. In most Caribbean organisations, nobody is formally responsible for any of it.

The AI Officer is the role that closes that gap — the person who translates strategy into safe, valuable AI, keeps the organisation on the right side of the EU AI Act and emerging local regulation, and helps every team generate real value with the technology.

This programme is the fastest credible way to appoint one. A single, intensive half-day — evidence-based, cutting-edge, and built around your own business — that leaves your designated people equipped, certified, and ready to lead on day one.

By the close of the session, your AI Officer can:

  • Set an AI strategy and link it to the numbers the business already cares about
  • Read the EU AI Act and classify your use cases by risk
  • Run the AI Business Canvas on a live opportunity
  • Choose the right frontier model for the job
  • Design, scope and stand up an AI project
  • Put the first AI governance frameworks in place
  • Show a working AI app built on a real company problem

What your officer will master

The complete AI Officer syllabus

Twelve capabilities, delivered with the rigour of an executive-leadership course and the practicality of a working session. Every module lands in something your officer can do the next morning.

01 · LITERACY

AI Literacy That Sticks

What AI actually is and is not, how modern models work, and the plain-language vocabulary an officer needs to lead the room and cut through vendor hype.

02 · ENABLEMENT

Organisational Enablement

How to take AI from a few curious users to a capable workforce — adoption patterns, the Way of Work with AI, and the change that makes it stick.

03 · STRATEGY

AI Strategy

Setting AI ambition and risk appetite, mapping where AI creates and destroys value, and putting AI on the strategy agenda instead of the wish list.

04 · REGULATION

The EU AI Act & Compliance

The risk tiers that now define global AI law, how they apply to your use cases, and what the Act signals for Caribbean and local data-protection regimes.

05 · PRACTICE

AI Best Practices

The habits of high-performing AI teams — prompt discipline, human-in-the-loop, evaluation, and the quality bar that separates a demo from production.

06 · RISK

AI Risk & Safety

Hallucination, bias, data leakage, shadow AI and model failure — how to spot them, size them, and put controls around them before they bite.

07 · BUSINESS

Linking AI to the Business

Translating AI capability into revenue, cost and risk outcomes the C-suite recognises, and making the business case that gets funded.

08 · CANVAS

The AI Business Canvas

Full access to our AI Business Canvas — the one-page tool for turning a rough idea into a scoped, value-tested AI opportunity, run live in the room.

09 · VALUE

Generating Value with AI

The repeatable method for finding, prioritising and capturing AI value across operations, service, sales and back office — evidence-based, not hype-driven.

10 · MODELS

The Frontier Models

Hands-on with today's leading models — where each one wins, how to choose between them, and how to route work to the right model at the right cost.

11 · PROJECTS

Designing & Developing AI Projects

From problem to prototype: scoping, data, build options, and the delivery discipline that gets an AI project shipped rather than stalled.

12 · FRAMEWORKS

Standing Up AI Frameworks

The starter governance, usage and review frameworks every organisation needs — drafted in the session so your officer walks out already implementing.

Fluent across the frontier

Hands-on with every model that matters

Your officer will not be loyal to one vendor. They will know the strengths, limits and economics of the whole frontier — and how to pick the right tool for each job.

The half-day, hour by hour

A working session, not a lecture

Frameworks in the first half of each block, applied to your live business in the second. Timings are indicative and tailored to each cohort.

0:00–0:45

Grounding & the AI Officer mandate

AI literacy levelled across the room, the frontier explained, and a clear picture of what the AI Officer role owns inside your organisation.

0:45–1:30

Strategy, value & the AI Business Canvas

Where AI creates value in your business, run through the AI Business Canvas on one of your real opportunities, linked back to numbers the board recognises.

1:30–2:15

The EU AI Act, risk & frameworks

Classify your use cases by risk tier, walk the best-practice controls, and draft the first governance and usage frameworks your officer will own.

2:15–3:30

The build: your AI work-app

Guided, hands-on. Each officer designs and builds a working AI app against a real company problem, choosing the right frontier model for the task.

3:30–4:00

Showcase, roadmap & certification

Officers present their builds, leave with a 30-day framework rollout plan, and receive their AI Officer certificate from the Caribbean AI Association.

The centrepiece

They don't just learn AI. They build with it.

The heart of the programme is a live, guided build. Before the session, we agree a real business problem from your organisation. In the room, your officer designs and ships a working AI work-app against it — evidence-based, on the cutting edge, and genuinely useful the day after.

This is what separates an AI Officer who knows about AI from one who can deliver it. It is also the moment the value of the programme becomes undeniable to everyone watching — a real solution to a real problem, built in an afternoon.

Live Capstone Build

Your AI Work-App, in one session

  • 1Pick the problem. We select a real, evidence-based business problem from your organisation before the day.
  • 2Design it right. Scope, data, and the right frontier model — using the project-design method from the syllabus.
  • 3Build it live. Your officer ships a working AI app, guided hands-on, on the cutting edge of what's possible today.
  • 4Prove the value. A working solution, a way-of-work you can repeat, and a framework to govern it.

Two audiences, one easy yes

HR wants to send them. Staff want to go.

A rare training that clears both bars at once — a defensible capability investment for the organisation, and a genuine career accelerant for the individual.

For HR & Leadership

Why you'll want to send your people

  • Half a day, whole capability. Minimal time out of the business for a named, certified AI Officer.
  • Governance you can point to. Frameworks and EU AI Act literacy that reduce real regulatory and data risk.
  • Immediate, visible ROI. A working AI app on a real company problem — value the board can see the same week.
  • Builds internal capacity. You grow your own AI leaders instead of renting expensive external help forever.
  • A retention and EVP win. Investing in high-calibre certification signals you're serious about your people's future.
For Staff

Why you'll want to do it

  • A credential that travels. Become a Certified AI Officer — one of the most in-demand roles of the decade.
  • You build something real. Walk out having shipped an AI app, not just having watched slides.
  • Learn from the best. A day in the room with an award-winning AI scientist and builder.
  • Career-defining, not career-interrupting. Half a day that changes how you're seen at work.
  • Confidence, not jargon. Leave able to actually lead on AI, not just talk about it.

Questions

Before you reserve

Who should we send?

The person (or people) you want to own AI inside the organisation: an operations, HR, IT, risk, strategy or innovation lead, a department head, or a rising manager you're grooming for the role. No technical background is required — the programme is built for capable professionals, not engineers.

Is it really only half a day?

Yes. It's an intensive, four-hour in-person session designed to certify a working AI Officer in a single sitting. The depth comes from the format — frameworks applied immediately to your live business, and a real build — rather than from dragging it across weeks.

What is the certificate, exactly?

On completing the workshop and the live build, each participant earns a named AI Officer Certificate endorsed by the Caribbean AI Association — a recognised regional credential that signals a real, assessed capability, not just attendance.

Do participants really build a working app?

They do. Ahead of the session we agree a genuine business problem from your organisation. In the room, each officer designs and ships a working AI work-app against it, guided hands-on. It's evidence-based, on the cutting edge, and useful the very next day.

Can we run a private session for our team?

Yes. Alongside public cohorts, we run private in-house sessions for a single organisation — built entirely around your own business problems, up to the 20-seat cap. Mention it in the form and we'll scope it with you.

How many people can attend?

Sessions are capped at 20 seats so every participant gets guided through the build. If you want to certify more people, we'll schedule additional cohorts.

Who teaches it?

Adrian Dunkley — award-winning AI scientist and builder, founder of StarApple AI, the Caribbean's first AI company. He teaches the programme in person.
